Whether you have a tour group, office meeting, a neighborhood party or a wedding party, we will do our best to accommodate you! Listed below are some answers to commonly asked questions that may help you in planning your cruise. Please call our office if you have any other questions that may come up. Our office hours are 10 am until 5 pm Monday through Friday.

Is there any form of entertainment on board?

The Southern Patriot is equipped with a compact disc player and a cassette player. We have a large selection of music, but encourage you to bring you own music, that is appropriate for your crowd. If your group is going to be dancing or have special musical requests, we recommend hiring a DJ or a small band.

Can we bring alcohol?

Yes, you can. For your convenience, there are 48qt. coolers that you may use. We also have ice for sale.

Is there any way to heat food? A microwave is available for your use. You may also bring crock-pots, chaffing dishes, and hot plates.

Is there a phone in case of an emergency?

A cellular telephone is kept on board at all times in case of an emergency. If you or your guests prefer, we have cigarette lighter plugs and outlets for your own telephones.

When can we board the boat?

Our normal policy is to have a member of the crew on board one hour before the scheduled departure time, to assist with setting up food, bands, DJs, caterers, etc. We allow passengers to board 30 minutes prior to departure time.

What if a guest is late arriving?

We will gladly wait on late passengers for as long as you wish, but we will return to the dock at the scheduled time on the contract.

Can we decorate?

Yes, if your party requires special assistance in setting up or additional time, please make arrangements with the office to make sure the boat is available and crewmembers are present. There is an additional charge for time requested above the one hour we provide. Upon returning, we allow 30 minutes to off load passengers, band gear, etc. We often have charters scheduled back to back and appreciate your cooperation in disembarking promptly.

Is the tour narrated?

Narrated tours on portions of Lake Murray are available.

What if it rains?

The Southern Patriot cruises rain or shine. The upper and lower decks can be enclosed. Most passengers who have experience rain on a cruise have not been dissatisfied. In the case of severe storms or fog, it is the discretion of Lake Tours, Inc. to cancel and reschedule the event.

Do you have restrooms on board for passengers?

Yes, restrooms are available for your convenience.
